welcome

Each body tells a story. Our bodies are recordkeepers of past traumas that we may have experienced or inherited. Our goal is to serve as a guide for the discharge of these holding patterns. Are you suffering from pain, chronic tension, are you seeking relief from old holding patterns?

Trauma is not what happens to you. Trauma is what happens inside you as a result of what happens to you.

Greetings,

I’m Emgee, the owner of Mahal Bodywork Studio, through bodywork and somatic therapy, my goal is to aid clients in gaining better body + mind awareness. My approach is multi-faceted, guided by my own personal healing from major abdominal surgery with scarring, being diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome, and overcoming acute back pain after a traumatic event left me in debilitating pain.

I specialize in somatic bodywork that is intuitive, rehabilitative and collaborative. My style of touch ranges from light touch with oscillation to deeper work, incorporating elements of Ayurveda, Thai massage, Lomi- Lomi, Pranic breath work, lymphatic drainage, Reiki, Myofascial Release and structural bodywork.

My approach

SOMATIC THERAPIST + BODYWORKER + VISUAL ARTIST + WHOLE HEART KINDNESS

I am passionate about the body's ability to discharge trauma, the stories our bodies tell, the (mind + body) connection, and one's ability to heal. I am fully present during sessions and mindful that this is sacred work. I have taught and studied internationally, I am a published author, visual artist, and editor. In my free time, I am a mother to three feral daughters, make large sculptural vessels, and paint abstract landscapes inspired by the Pacific Northwest.
