Does your insurance plan cover massage?
We accept auto (PIP) and personal injury (L & I) claims. We accept Kaiser, Aetna, Triwest, and Community Health Plan (Non Medicare).
Just because you have insurance, it does not mean that it is guaranteed to cover massage. Before making an appointment call your insurance company’s customer service line, the number should be on the back of your card.
Here are the questions to ask:
Does my plan have a massage therapy benefit?
What is my deductible? Has it been met? Do I need to meet my deductible in order to receive the massage benefit? If you have not met your deductible we will NOT bill your insurance you will be responsible for the out of pocket medical massage costs. Your insurance company may reimburse at the out of network rate.
Are there any exclusions with regard to massage therapy under my plan?
Is there a maximum dollar amount or maximum number of visits allowed per year for this benefit?
Is there a Copay? Or a Co-Insurance?
Is there a maximum dollar amount or maximum number of visits allowed per year for this benefit?
Please Note: Verification of Benefits is not a guarantee of coverage. Final payment determination will be made when your insurance company processes your claim.
In addition to calling and verifying your insurance we must have a referral from your physician faxed to our office at 206-826-6399 for billing purposes. Referrals need to be dated before the first session we have with you, and need to contain the following information:
Diagnosis (with CPT code - the doctor provides)
Number of sessions (usually 8-12 for adults; 4-5 for children)
Frequency and duration of treatment (usually weekly/biweekly for adults; every 3 weeks for children)
Please DO NOT make an appointment prior to receipt of your referral. We will contact you as soon as it arrives.
Gratuities
Gratuities are not expected or necessary, but of course they are an excellent way to let the therapist know they’ve done an amazing job. If you do choose to tip however, the average rate is 10-20% of the cost of service. Tips may be left in the room for the therapist to find on the table or it may be added to your credit card, check payment at the end of the visit. You are not obligated to tip for a medical massage. Of course, if you are so moved, I'm sure your therapist won't turn it down.
After you’ve verified your benefits and you are Interested in working together, fill out the information below and we will be in touch shortly! We can't wait to hear from you!
