INTEGRATIVE Somatic Therapy PRACTICE

My somatic training centers on the teachings of Integrative Somatic Therapy Practice (ISTP) ™ . Through my studies with Ratha Chek at the Integrative Somatic Studies Institute, weaving various healing modalities to fully support individuals integrating innovations in Yoga, Mindfulness, Breathwork, Movement, Bodywork, Sound, Resilience Enhancement, Ceremony, Body-oriented Processing/Integration, and neuroscience designed to enhance the body's own capacity to heal and reclaim HOPE. Centering on this organic process to healing, individuals are gently guided to release body-stored trauma, experience self-efficacy, gain greater emotional resilience to interact with life circumstances with clarity, openness, and HEART .

As a student of Integrative Somatic Therapy Practice™ I believe that true healing comes when we work in tandem with mind and body. For healing body-stored trauma, Integrative Somatic Therapy Practice (ISTP)™ is a Body-Centered Soul-Based Psychotherapy for healing body-stored trauma. This approach focuses on enhancing the body own capacity to heal by freeing the body, breath, and energy flow through the practice of self-awareness and self-compassion.

The root of somatic therapy is based on what happens to you in your life is stored not only in your mind but also in your body. Somatic work engages the autonomic nervous system (ANS) to address trauma-related symptoms that occur when the body’s natural response to threat is interrupted. A somatic therapy session may include soft tissue and deep fascia manipulation, visceral discharge, structural integration techniques, breathwork, and the exploration of mind + body sensations. The process is gradual rather than cathartic and always proceeds at the pace of the client.

All the work I do, is rooted in social and disability justice. I aim to provide a sex positive, anti-oppressive, body-positive, feminist space. I welcome and celebrate, all folks and the varying ways we are in the world; including but not limited to, various sexualities and genders, lived experiences within/outside the mental health system, sex work positive, and harm reduction positive.

I welcome you to arrive just as you are.

My approach

SOMATIC THERAPIST + BODYWORKER + VISUAL ARTIST + WHOLE HEART KINDNESS

I am passionate about the body's ability to discharge trauma, the stories our bodies tell, the (mind + body) connection, and one's ability to heal. I am fully present during sessions and mindful that this is sacred work. I have taught and studied internationally, I am a published author, visual artist, and editor. In my free time, I am a mother to three feral daughters, make large sculptural vessels, and paint abstract landscapes inspired by the Pacific Northwest.

Integrative Somatic Therapy Practice (ISTP)™ is informed by research and developed by Body Psychotherapist Ratha Chek, from an intuitive knowing of the need to weave various healing modalities to fully support individuals in therapy; body, mind, and soul. Integrative Somatic Therapy Practice (ISTP™) integrates innovations in Yoga, Mindfulness, Breathwork, Movement, Bodywork, Sound, Resilience Enhancement, Ceremony, Body-oriented Processing/Integration, and neuroscience designed to enhance the body's own capacity to heal and reclaim HOPE. Centering on this organic process to healing, individuals are gently guided to release body-stored trauma, experience self-efficacy, gain greater emotional resilience to interact with life circumstances with clarity, openness, and HEART.
